Mental Health Baseline Assessment
A Mental Health Baseline assessment provides an initial, structured overview of a child or young person’s emotional wellbeing and mental health. It is designed to identify areas of strength and resilience alongside any emerging or existing difficulties that may benefit from further support, assessment, or therapeutic intervention.

Our process
The assessment draws on validated screening tools and clinical observation, combined with information from the young person, their family, and — where appropriate — their educational setting. It considers areas such as anxiety, low mood, emotional regulation, self-esteem, social confidence, and the impact of any adverse or stressful experiences.
After the Assessment
Following the assessment, families receive a clear summary of findings with practical recommendations for next steps. These may include guidance on wellbeing strategies, referral pathways, or further specialist assessment where indicated. The aim is to provide families and professionals with an accessible starting point for understanding and supporting a young person’s mental health needs.

Working With Families and Professionals
“The team worked together seamlessly and we felt supported throughout. It never felt rushed or impersonal. The focus on our child’s strengths as well as their needs was reassuring, and the outcomes have been genuinely helpful in moving forward.”
“The assessment and report from Live to Learn were exceptionally clear and practical. The recommendations were specific, realistic, and easy to translate into provision within school. Having the educational context so carefully considered made a real difference.”
“From the very beginning, the process felt thoughtful and well coordinated. The assessment was thorough, but what stood out most was how clearly everything was explained. The report gave us real clarity and helped us understand not just the diagnosis, but what support would actually help our child in school and day-to-day life.”
