Clinical Psychologist Appointments
A Clinical Psychologist appointment provides access to specialist psychological expertise for children and young people who may benefit from further assessment, consultation, or clinical input. Appointments are available as part of the integrated assessment process at Live to Learn, or as standalone sessions where a psychological perspective is needed to support understanding of a young person’s presentation, needs, or therapeutic direction.
Our process
The appointment is tailored to the individual and may involve clinical interview, standardised assessment, behavioural observation, or consultation with the family and educational professionals. The Clinical Psychologist draws on a broad evidence base and works within a neuro-affirmative, strengths-based framework to ensure that the young person’s experiences and identity are respected throughout.
After the Assessment
Following the appointment, families receive a clear summary or report, depending on the nature of the session. This may include diagnostic formulation, clinical recommendations, guidance for therapeutic intervention, or input to support EHCP processes and educational planning.

Working With Families and Professionals
“The team worked together seamlessly and we felt supported throughout. It never felt rushed or impersonal. The focus on our child’s strengths as well as their needs was reassuring, and the outcomes have been genuinely helpful in moving forward.”
“The assessment and report from Live to Learn were exceptionally clear and practical. The recommendations were specific, realistic, and easy to translate into provision within school. Having the educational context so carefully considered made a real difference.”
“From the very beginning, the process felt thoughtful and well coordinated. The assessment was thorough, but what stood out most was how clearly everything was explained. The report gave us real clarity and helped us understand not just the diagnosis, but what support would actually help our child in school and day-to-day life.”
